These are monthly programs sponsored by The Federal Defenders of Idaho. It is held, appropriately enough, on the Third Thursday of each month other than during the summer. This "brown-bag" luncheon normally meets at the Boise Federal Defenders Office, 702 W. Idaho, Suite 1000, Boise, at noon.
The program features a variety of speakers and experts from various areas of the criminal justice system and is approved for free CLE with the Idaho State Bar. The announcement of speakers, topics and details are sent monthly to the CJA mailing list and to anyone who has expressed an interest in being on that mailing list. Other mailings include various topics of interest including recent 9th Circuit decisions and commentary.
Location: Boise office of the Federal Defender Services of Idaho, 702 W. Idaho, Suite 1000.
For more information contact Joy Fish at the Boise Federal Defenders Office at (208) 331-5500.
This is an annual conference presented by the Federal Defenders. The one or two day program is held in the fall each year and features topics about both general criminal defense and capital habeas representation. Outstanding speakers from all over the United States participate and share their expertise. There is an opportunity to get together with these speakers at the end of the conference in an informal setting sponsored by the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers who cosponsors the annual conference. The cost is minimal and CLE credit is approved by the Idaho State Bar.
